Assistants are the most versatile and expendable workers on the station. They are recommended to new-comers who have read or are reading the tutorial and are still getting their space legs.

Required knowledge: How not to become a griefer. How to be a proper new player.
Round-start to-do list: Find a job, befriend other people, entertain yourself and try to be useful. If possible.
Main tasks: Explore various parts of the station, meet with other crewmembers and learn more about Sif and the station.
Main problems: You might be bored sometimes and you're not useful on your own. Find a job and get paid at the end of the shift.
Bare minimum requirements: Don't actually greytide and kill people randomly.

As an Assistant, you'll want to either get a job or just assist with various jobs around the station. Feel free to ask over the radio if anyone would like any assistance. You don't have any access, so it'll be pretty hard to get anywhere, but this is still a good job for new players.

  • Git good.
  • People might think you're still a scrub after getting good. Use this.

Gimmicks: Traitor Assistants are about the least scrutinized characters in terms of backstory. If you want to be a mass-manufactured Almachi warbot here to murder the Captain and declare synthetic dominance, sure. If you want to be part of an elite team of special agents here to assassinate the Heads of Staff and bring the station revolution, also okay! If you want to be someone who took your favorite anime a little too seriously and dress up in a schoolgirl uniform to hit people with a stick? Fine! You don't really have any expectations, which makes it easy to exceed them.

A blood-drenched, toolbelt-wearing assistant is one of the most iconic and terrifying images of Space Station 13 for good reason. Bring your forebearers pride and honor. Graytide station wide.
